Economic Development

The Nisqually Economic Development program provides planning and technical assistance services in support of sustainable tribal economic development and diversification.

This includes the completion and updating of the long term economic development plan for the tribal community and a review and analysis of potential tribal economic development ventures.
Also included is the securing of grant and loan financing to fund tribal economic development initiatives and the provision of training and technical assistance services to community members in household budgeting and personal finance.

Upcoming projects and initiatives include:

• Development of a revolving loan fund for tribal member and tribal enterprise financing needs.
• Development of options economic development along highway 510 corridor, in coordination with tribal vision plan and master planning processes.
• Development of options for economic development for tribal lands on Martin Way and in DuPont.
• Review, analysis, and development of financing in support of tribal day care program expansion.
