October 14th - Honor Walk Treaty Fishing Rights Struggle

50 years ago the right to fish on the rivers for the Native people of this land became a fight with the State. State Game Wardens were brought in to stop the Native people from fishing on their own U and A grounds. There were some individuals who fought the State for the right to maintain our way of life and fish on our rivers. This walk is in Honor of those individuals.

When: Saturday, October 14th from 11a.m. - 3p.m.
Where: Walk begins at Nisqually's Baseball field and ends at the Culture Center Longhouse
Contact: Joyce McCloud at (360) 456-5221 ext. 1142 or Carrol Clark ext. 1221
