We are the Nisqually: The people of the river, the people of the grass. Our tribe is a sovereign government of the original peoples of the Pacific Northwest, and one of the principal native societies around the Puget Sound. We envision the Nisqually Tribe as a place where spirits are strong and good. It is a place where all people, interconnected with all things, can live in harmony. We believe in families that are united and healthy. Elders pass on their wisdom and our traditions to our youth. But we walk proudly into the future. Our people honor, support and encourage each other to grow and find their own way.
