Youth Services

Following is a list of goals. After phase one is completed we will then establish the network of how all of the departments will interact with one another. It will be the criteria for how a family that comes into the system will be tracked in and out of the process. For some departments i.e., Head Start, this process will last throughout the child/ren school age years.

YOUTH SERVICES GOALS

Short Term Goals

  1. Support youth through education.
  2. Establish Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  3. Develop and establish a communication with parents, staff, to build a positive level of involvement.
  4. Employment and training for after high school program.
  5. Establish a youth sports league.
  6. Establishment of role.
  7. Yearly on-going youth program.
  8. Use knowledge of staff as a resource.
  9. Less delinquency and more graduates.
  10. Establishment of a well structured summer youth program with employment and training as the focus inclusive with life skills.
  11. Provide policies and procedures with assessments.
  12. Acquire more staff and facility.
  13. Establishment of protocol to network with other departments.

Long Term Goals

  1. Establish a trained and active youth council.
  2. Have a transitional and safe place home for youth and families.
  3. More effective court diversion system at the tribal, county, and state levels.
  4. Established tracking system.
  5. Developed and established mentoring/training program with recreation and health emphasis.
