Nisqually Indian Tribal Housing Department (NITHD) oversees over 90 rental homes on the Nisqually Reservation with more development and acquisition planned. NITHD encourages all tribal members over 18 years of age to apply for the Waiting List.
Waiting List Application | Use this application to apply to the Waiting List.
Family Reports Update Form | Use this form to update your family report after any changes to the family’s income and/or composition (number of people, etc).
NITHD provides rental assistance up to $5000 per year to qualified households living off-reservation within our service area.
Community Rental Assistance Application | Use this application to apply for Community Rental Assistance. Completed applications must include all eligibility documents.
NITHD oversees the administration of a once-per-lifetime $30,000 award for enrolled Nisqually Tribal Members. The funds may be used for the purchase of a new home (including down payment, closing costs, rate buy-downs, etc) or for repairs, remodel or improvements of an existing home.
HAP Application | Use this application to apply and utilize Housing Assistance Program funding.
NITHD provides assistance up to $20,000 per year to qualified homeowners for repairs, renovations, rehab projects and modernization activities.
Rehab and Mod Program Application | Use this application to apply for rehab and mod program funding. Completed applications must include all eligibility documents.
Eligibility, Admissions, and Occupancy Policy (EAO) | This policy dictates how NITHD determines eligibility for housing, selects occupants for admission, and maintains occupancy standards by providing consistent, equitable, and uniform treatment of all applicants and participants.
Drug Policy | This policy was created to ban drug use in NITHD rental units and homeowner units to foster a safe, healthy and peaceful community.
Pet Policy | This policy sets pet-related requirements for all NITHD rental homes in accordance with Nisqually Tribal Code Title 4 (Animal Control).
Reasonable Accommodation Policy | This policy sets forth how program participants may request necessary accommodations to their home to allow all tribal members to have an equal opportunity to use and enjoy the program.
Grievance Policy | This policy provides participants of any NITHD programs the opportunity to a fair hearing on any adverse actions or failures to act.
Debt Collection Policy | This policy sets forth the rights of NIT to collect monies owed to the tribe.

184 Loan Application | The Section 184 Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program is a home mortgage product specifically designed for American Indian families. Section 184 financing allows borrowers to get into a home with a low down payment and flexible underwriting terms – making homeownership more achievable. NITH partners with 1st Tribal Lending to help applicants secure Section 184 loans and take the first step to homeownership.
