May 16th - 5th Annual MMIW/MMIP Walk

May has become an important month of recognition for our lost and stolen sisters and relatives. To support this vital cause, the Nisqually Tribal Health and Wellness Center encourages all staff members to wear red during the month of May!

Wearing red symbolizes solidarity with the families and communities affected by the ongoing crisis of MMIW/MMIP. It is also a way to raise awareness about this issue and honor the lives of those lost.

In addition to wearing red, we will hold a walk at 11:30am on Thursday, May 16th, to show our support and solidarity.

If you'd like to join please meet us in front of the Health Center, and we will walk down to the Boulevard to the roundabout near the new rez mart and back. (Some staff will offer rides to those unable to walk)

We invite all staff members to join us for this walk and to wear red as a sign of support.
